Since the 2.0 launch in June we have shipped in the background rather than in the changelog. This release catches up. The headline is ByteDance's Seedream 5.0 Pro, our most precise model for text, layout and reference-guided editing. Alongside it: reference images that steer a generation, model search that matches meaning as well as keywords, and three months of fixes to generation, billing and sign-in.

ByteDance's new flagship, built for the things most models smear: readable lettering, deliberate layout, edits that change one thing and leave the rest alone. Posters, product shots, portraits, infographics. Up to ten reference images per generation. Two sizes — 1K at base cost, 2K at twice that.

Attach images to your prompt and compatible models follow them — a style, a composition, a specific subject. No more describing a look in three paragraphs and hoping. Seedream 5.0 Pro takes up to ten at once.
Search that knows what you meant.
Model search now matches meaning, not just keywords. Describe the kind of model you're after and it finds it, even when you don't know the name. Faster, too. And when nothing really matches, it says so instead of guessing.
Covers for sensitive images.
Set Content Filter to Blur and mature images sit behind a cover you tap to reveal — Create, Assets, Explore. Set it to Hide and they stay out of your feeds entirely. It's in the settings menu next to the prompt box, and it applies everywhere at once.
